It should be a personal choice and teachers should know that it’s ok to do you! Decorating does not make you a better teacher. Thank you for sharingPricenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2659477103938171273.post-52612689412502276722018-07-06T07:15:06.161-05:002018-07-06T07:15:06.161-05:00I love this post!!! I am so happy to know I’m not ...I love this post!!! I am so happy to know I’m not alone in not changing my theme every year. Come to think of it I don’t even have a theme just a colorful classroom! Have a happy summer!
~ErinAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00375898110587941559noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2659477103938171273.post-7180280366179846222018-07-06T02:31:47.544-05:002018-07-06T02:31:47.544-05:00I am really glad to read this as it makes so much ...I am really glad to read this as it makes so much sense to me. I am always so stunned by the amount of work I see teachers put themselves through to change their rooms each year. I already spend an insane amount of time sourcing/creating teaching materials, organising and planning along with every other teaching related task. I urge all teachers to enjoy as much of their free time as they can with family and other interests. The extra work involved is already overwhelming!
I spent a lot of time setting up my room and preparing display resources when I first got it. I cannot imagine doing that every year. Especially if you like what you have done. "If it ain't broke..."
Of course I will adapt, add and improve certain aspects of my room over the year and at the end of each year. But I think teachers should think about who is really benefitting from all the theme changes. Is it really enhancing the learning, or is it simply satisfying your desire to keep up with new cute ideas on Pinterest?

Your bee theme is great, I love the story behind it, the link to your name and the whole concept of 'Busy Bees'. I am sure each new class of children who come to your room finds it as engaging as the last. Even though it has been many years for you, it works and is fresh to them.
Lauranoreply@blogger.com
